It is not always the most complicated innovations that are the most effective. Wine Squirrel is a decanter that will change a lot of things as it will keep your wine for weeks.
The principle of carafe
Generally, we put the wine in a carafe in two very specific situations : to decant or to decant it.
The purpose of decanting is to aerate the wine and thus eliminate certain defects or make certain aromas more expressive. It is for this use that Wine Squirrel differs from other decanters.
Decantation differs from carafe. Indeed, the objective is not to aerate the wine, but to eliminate the deposit in suspension in your bottle of wine. After leaving your bottle standing for a whole day, you slowly pour the wine until you see the deposit approaching the neck and you stop there. You can then drink the wine contained in the carafe during your meal.
Squirrel : a long shelf life promise
With Wine Squirrel, you will be able to decant or decant your wine and you will be able to taste it for several days thanks to its sealing system. You will no longer have to force yourself to finish the dinner wine contained in your carafe. Throwing in or leaving an open bottle of wine after a few days in the fridge seems to be a thing of the past with this new decanter.
The effectiveness of this innovation lies in the unique sealing mechanism. According to its inventor, the airtight seal is so effective that you can store the decanter horizontally or upside down without spilling a drop. This famous seal will prevent the wine from being spoiled by an oxygen exchange.
Wine Squirrel is therefore what one might call an "anti-decanter". After decanting your wine, it will be able to air out for a moment to reveal all its aromas. As soon as you have finished tasting your wine, all you have to do is close your decanter tightly to keep your wine for several days.
An innovation in crowdfunding
Like many innovations these days, Wine Squirrel is looking for funding on the site Kickstarter.com. As I speak to you, the project has already exceeded its target of 30’000 $ reaching funding of 45'776 $ thanks to 450 contributors.
The product will therefore be able to be developed and sold at an advertised price of 85 $ from november 2016.
