In association with the new cooking site Nini's frichtis, here we offer you a new wine pairing and leek quiche recipe, smoked bacon and reblochon.

The challenges of wine and leek quiche

The quiche is a perfect dish for weekday dinners. Economic, this dish requires only a few ingredients and is very easy to make.

It is simply served with a green salad, and voila. Vary the pleasures and surprise everyone with this leek quiche recipe, smoked bacon and reblochon.

For this food and wine pairing, the challenge is to find a wine of thirst, a wine of pleasure. With this simple recipe, we are not going to have fun chasing prestigious appellations.

The second challenge of this agreement lies in the green salad that accompanies it. As I explain in the article " Why not pair wine and salad ? ", the vinaigrette is resistant to pairing with wine.

What food and wine pairings with our leek quiche recipe ?

The preparation of this leek quiche recipe, smoked bacon and reblochon cheese is a good opportunity to uncork a wine for friends. Indeed, there is no need to bring out your finest wines here. This recipe offers great pairing possibilities with white wine. However, you can still choose a red wine… as long as you forget the green salad.

Whatever selection you make, you should not choose a wine that is too powerful so as not to contradict the taste of the leek. A light and fresh wine will pair wonderfully with this dish.

The recipe for this quiche is made with leeks. Therefore, the ideal will be to offer a white wine for tasting. Opt for a dry and not very exuberant white wine. For a discovery agreement, I recommend a white wine from Loire appellation Orléans or a Beaujolais White. These wines, without excess acidity, reveal floral aromas with a nice fresh frame.

For a more aromatic accord, the Loire Valley offers great opportunities with appellations Quincy and Reuilly.

For a more traditional agreement, Burgundy is a favorite wine region. The appellations Saint-Véran and Mâcon offers a refreshing palate that will go perfectly with your leek quiche, reblochon and smoked bacon.

You want to offer a red wine ? You will absolutely have to turn to a fruity wine with very little tannin. Very refined, the red wine from Alsace is a balanced and fruity wine that will let the dish express itself. For more lightness, a Bourgueil of the Loire will also be appropriate !

My selection

blog fine wines pairing quiche leeks white wines orléans

For my part, this leek quiche recipe, reblochon and smoked bacon allowed me to rediscover the Orléans appellation (white wine from the Loire Valley). Fairly confidential, the Orleans region has some nice surprises in store for its delicacy as with the Clos Saint Fiacre.

The estate offers us here a very expressive Chardonnay, with notes of fresh fruit and citrus. Her fresh and greedy mouth, reveals tangy flavors, which marry wonderfully with the powerful taste of leeks and reblochon.

To avoid !

For this recipe, avoid red wines that are too powerful or tannic which would contradict the taste of the dish.
