Ah that good old Rosé Grapefruit, many people think that it is a new product straight out of the spirit of a marketing department and yet… This Provencal wine is an aperitif delicately flavored with grapefruit that our grandmothers already knew ! It is the ideal aperitif to drink in the summer while lo basing by the pool.
You see, the world is divided into two categories, those who make their homemade grapefruit rosé wine and those who get ed by marketing… You will no longer be pinned and you will amaze your guests with this recipe.
Why make homemade grapefruit rosé ?
Grapefruit rosé was known by our forefathers, yet they did not find it in supermarkets as today. These new rosé wines flavoured with grapefruit in supermarket generally contain many additives, food coloring, sweeteners, and other more or less natural flavours, and often not a drop of real grapefruit juice. The rosé used in this ready-to-drink mixture is of a sufficiently dubious quality not to be marketed without added aromas.
Many people buy it and yet there is nothing simpler than to prepare a good and cheap homemade grapefruit rosé ! In 2013, it sold 22 million liters of flavored wine-based drinks ! What if you succumbed instead to the DIY trend ? (DIY = do it yourself).
Recipe : make your own grapefruit rosé
- put the rosé in a carafe or directly in a glass
- squeeze your grapefruit and pour the juice into the rosé
- add sugar to your liking if you find the drink too acidic
- to drink fresh and be totally relaxed : this step is very important !
If you are not very motivated to squeeze a grapefruit, you can also use 30 cl bottled grapefruit juice or grapefruit syrup.
Trick : Grapefruit ice cubes
By getting started in advance, you will be able to give style to your drink to impress your guests a little more ! The day before, cut pieces of grapefruit and place them in the freezer. The next day, you will only have to put the pieces in your glass to keep your homemade grapefruit rosé fresh… And with style !
